About Fred Knip
Fred was born and raised on a farm in South Western Ontario to a Dutch immigrant family being the second oldest of eight children. After attending Calvin College in Michigan, United States, Fred moved to Alberta, where he met his wife, Dita, a Dutch home-care nurse, who was helping a family with MS.
After getting married, Fred and Dita moved to Andijk, the Netherlands, where Fred spent nearly five years working with an international disaster relief organization, Dorcas Aid. He can read and speak Dutch and can conduct business either in the Dutch or English language. Having immigrant parents and growing up on a farm, Fred has a keen understanding for farming immigrants from the Netherlands.
Upon returning to Canada in 1996, Fred helped numerous Dutch farmers with insurance needs. It was through this process that the unpaid tax situation came to light.
Fred has been in the financial planning and management industry since 1981, taking a five year break working with disaster relief through out Africa, the Middle East, the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe while based in the Netherlands. Presently he lives with his wife, Dita, and their four teen-aged children, in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.
